Guo Ke

Guo Ke, born on September 18, 1980, in Wuhou District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a Chinese mainland film director and screenwriter. He graduated from the performance department of Sichuan Art School and the "Jucai" Artist Training Class in Hong Kong. Since 1998, he has participated in the production of over forty films and TV dramas. In 2008, Guo Ke directed the thriller short film "Er Ling Ba," marking the beginning of his directing career. In 2012, he completed the documentary short "Thirty Two," and in 2014, he directed the documentary "Twenty Two," which reflects the current situation of "comfort women" in China. In 2016, he was nominated for the Best Director Award at the Zhurong Village Dialect Film Festival for the documentary "Thirty Two." In 2017, he received the Annual Male Role Model Award at the Women's Media Awards. In 2018, Guo Ke directed the documentary "小天 (Little Tian)." In 2024, his feature film "The Coming Days," which combines documentary and narrative elements, is set to be released. Guo Ke has become one of the most prominent directors in mainland China due to his unique documentary style and profound insights into social issues.
