Esther Huang

Esther Huang, also known as Xiao Xun, and her Atayal name is Amuy. She was born on February 27, 1989, on Fairy Island of Shimen Reservoir in Taoyuan, Taiwan, and her family runs a live fish restaurant. She is a Chinese-speaking film and television actress, a singer, and a host. She entered the entertainment industry in 2005 by participating in the variety show "Blackie's Teenage Club". The following year, she joined the girl group 'Hey Girl' and starred in many idol dramas. After 2013, her impressive performance in the TV drama "Love Me Or Leave Me" earned her a nomination for the Taiwan TV Golden Bell Award. In 2016, through the movie "Lokah Laqi", she successfully won the Best New Performer Award at the 18th Taipei Film Festival. In 2019, Esther Huang's role in the film "Han Dan" earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 21st Taipei Film Festival. The same year, the movie "Blinding Souls", in which she participated, was screened in Hong Kong. In 2020, she won the Best Actress Award at the 42nd Golden Harvest Awards for her performance in the public television short film "The Other Side". This award was her first Best Actress title. By 2021, she won the Best Supporting Actress in a Mini-series or Television Movie at the 56th Golden Bell Awards for her work on "Who Killed the Good Man". In the same year, she also launched her own "Jingyi Art Studio". Huang was profoundly influenced by her grandfather, Huang Rongquan (Atayal name: Masa Tohui), a deceased oral tradition preserver of the Atayal community. He was commended with a Presidential Citation and received the third-class Professional Award for the indigenous community for his work in oral tradition preservation.
