Du Juan

Du Juan (Jennifer), born on September 15, 1982, in Shanghai, China, is a seasoned and versatile mainland Chinese model and actress. In 2002, Du Juan entered the modeling industry by winning the championship at the New Silk Road China Model Contest. The following year, she shot a commercial for the renowned brand "Shanghai Tang," marking a pivotal turning point in her career. In 2005, Du Juan became the first Asian model to grace the covers of both the Chinese and French editions of "VOGUE" magazine. In 2006, she was invited to sign with the American modeling agency IMG Models and subsequently made a powerful entrance into the four major fashion weeks, walking in 43 fashion shows. She was also the first Chinese model to perform on the Haute Couture runway. That same year, she was successfully listed among the Top 50 Models in the World by Models.com and was selected by the international fashion website Style.com as one of the world's top ten models of 2006. In 2007, Du Juan made history again by becoming the first Chinese model to appear on the cover of the American "TIME" magazine. She was also named one of the 20 most beautiful people in the world by American "W" magazine in the same year. In 2009, she was awarded the Most Stylish Fashion Model at the MTV Super Awards. Over the next few years, Du Juan began to expand her horizons into the film industry. In 2012, she made her film debut in "American Dreams in China," earning nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Best New Performer at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards for her outstanding performance. In 2017, she starred in the crime biographical film "Where the Wind Blows." In 2023, Du Juan appeared in the TV series "Blossoms Shanghai," directed by the renowned Wong Kar-wai.
