Deng Ke

Deng Ke, born on July 4, 1986, in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, is a rising director and producer in mainland China. In 2006, he enrolled at the Communication University of China. That same year, Deng Ke shot the short film "殺手阿勇 (Killer A Yong)," which won the Best Editing Award at the College Student Image Festival. In 2009, he directed the web series "偵探Mr雷 (Detective Mr. Lei)," earning a nomination for Best Director at the Tudou Image Festival, officially launching his directing career. In 2010, he directed the film "Angle," which was nominated for Best Directorial Debut at the Golden Rooster Film Festival. In 2012, his screenplay "爺爺騎士團 (Grandpa's Knights)" won the Grand Prize in the Pitch and Catch section of the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival. In 2015, Deng Ke directed the romantic fantasy drama "My Amazing Boyfriend." In 2017, he directed the fantasy romantic comedy "Kill Me Heal Me." In 2018, he directed the youth campus drama "When We Were Young," which won the Outstanding Web Drama of the Year at the 7th China Online Audio-Visual Conference. That same year, he also directed the Republican-era detective suspense drama "Detective L." In 2019, Deng Ke directed the detective drama "Miss S." In 2020, he directed the television series "My Heroic Husband." In 2023, he directed the TV dramas "The Prisoner Of Beauty" and "Guardians of the Dafeng." In 2024, Deng Ke's TV drama "The Legend of Shen Li" is scheduled to air on Hunan TV, Tencent Video, and Mango TV. Additionally, the series "The South Emperor and the North Beggar," part of the "The Legend of Heroes" series, will also be broadcast on Tencent Video in mainland China and MyTVSuper in Hong Kong.
