Danny Pang

Danny Pang (Pang Fat), born on November 11, 1965, is a multi-talented filmmaker from Hong Kong, holding multiple roles such as director, screenwriter, editor, and producer. He first emerged in the film scene in 1998 as a film editor on the action movie "The Storm Riders," which earned him the Best Editing award at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1999, Pang Fat and his brother Pang Chun formed the "Pang brothers". Their jointly directed action crime film "Bangkok Dangerous" won them the Best Director Award at the Thailand Film Award and the International Critics Award (FIPRESCI) at the 25th Toronto International Film Festival. In 2002, he was nominated for the Best Editing Award at the 22nd Hong Kong Film Awards for his work on the classic horror-thriller "The eye". He later won the Best Editing Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2003 for the crime film "Infernal Affairs II". In 2005, he added a sequel to the "The eye" series titled "The eye 10". His horror film "Forest of Death", which he directed in 2007, was internationally recognized and was nominated in the "Un Certain Regard" category at the 59th Cannes Film Festival. Peng Fa gained international attention once again with his thriller "Child's Eye" in 2010, which was nominated in the Horizon category at the 67th Venice Film Festival. In 2013, he expanded into action thrillers and filmed "Out of Inferno." Two years later, he directed the suspenseful detective film "Blind Spot". In 2019, he directed the film "Sharp Knife" which touched on public security, border control and drug prohibition themes. In 2024, his film "Break War" was released and his drama series "The Spirealm" aired.
