Christopher Sun

Christopher Sun, born on September 22, 1967, is a Hong Kong director, producer, photographer and screenwriter. Sun graduated from St. Paul's College in Hong Kong and holds a master's degree from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. In 1988, Sun dabbled in commercial production at Media Vision Ltd.. After Star TV acquired Media Vision Ltd. two years later, Sun was appointed as the program director of Satellite TV's Chinese station. He was responsible for directing and producing programs and StarTV's promotional videos. He first participated in film production as production assistant in 1989, having contributed to John Woo's "The Killer". Fast forward to 1999, his self-scripted and directed short film "以心備忘 (The Heart of the Memo)" garnered high acclaim and earned him the Young Director Award at the 50th Montecatini Independent Short Film Festival in Italy. In 2004, Sun was promoted to a Creative and Production Consultant for Television Production at Walt Disney Asia Pacific. He managed TV promotion and was also responsible for the production of the program "Disneyland's Magical World". Sun caught public attention again in 2011 with his directed movie "3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" which was screened in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea. The film made impressive earnings and topped the box office charts in both Hong Kong and Taiwan.
