Chiou Hau-jou

Chiou Hau-Jou, born on September 3, 1979, is a Taiwanese director and screenwriter. He graduated from Shih Hsin University, where he studied in the Graduate School of Broadcasting and Television and the Department of Communication Arts (Photography). As a formally trained emerging director, Chiou is skilled in emotional development and genre-based suspense styles. His works encompass various forms, including films, television dramas, and interactive series, and he has been nominated multiple times for significant awards such as the Golden Bell Award for Best Director.
In 2009, he released his directorial debut, "Rockers Never Die," officially launching his directing career. In 2010, he directed "First Time Being a Dad." The following year, his film "Jia Diao Tou Jia Niang" not only garnered industry attention but was also nominated for Best Television Movie at the 2011 Singapore Asian Television Awards, showcasing his directorial talent. That same year, he co-directed the idol drama "Die Sterntaler."
In 2012, Chiou directed the mini-series "The Murder Case in Fairy Valley" and co-directed the idol drama "Die Sterntaler." In 2013, he directed the film "The Accidental Robber" and starred in "Meng Xue Yuan Wu Ge Bu Tong De Shi Jie."
In 2014, he co-directed the television drama "B-8F," which was based on the 2003 SARS crisis, further expanding his directorial scope. In 2018, he directed the television drama "My Poseidon," starring Zhang Yunlong and Li Kaixin, which was adapted from the novel of the same name by urban romance author Miao Juan, receiving widespread attention.
On June 20, 2019, his interactive series "SmileTime" premiered on iQIYI, innovating the format of series. In October 2020, Chiou began filming the fantasy romance drama "FISH KNOWS YOU," which aired on June 15, 2023, further demonstrating his unique vision in the fantasy genre.
