Cheng Hao

Cheng Hao (born September 11, 1991) is a director from mainland China, born in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province. As a member of the Arc Light Alliance and a top-five winner of the "Green Onion Project," his creative journey began in 2014 when he directed the suspense microfilm "Dormitory," where he served as both writer and director, winning the Best Screenwriter Award at the inaugural China University Microfilm Creation Competition and being nominated for the Australian Golden Koala International Film Festival.
The following year, he ventured into commercial productions, serving as the executive director for the action film "Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe" and completing his work as director and writer for the crime film "Drug Road."
In 2016, he experienced a significant turning point when he was selected for the final round of the China Directors Association's "Green Onion Project" for his directing and writing skills in the suspense feature film "Polar Night Pursuit." In December of the same year, he released his first television series, "Evil Minds 2," starring Chen Ruoxuan and Wang Li Zheng, which established his position in genre directing.
Cheng continued to develop in both film and television, releasing the competitive drama "Ping Pong" starring Bai Jingting and Xu Weizhou in March 2021, followed by the sports film "Fly!Skating Star" in February of the following year. On February 8, 2025, his latest urban emotional drama, "The Embers," premiered exclusively on Tencent Video, featuring a cast of new-generation actors including Wang Ziqi and Sun Yang.
From microfilms to commercial blockbusters, Cheng Hao has accumulated a diverse portfolio of representative works, including "Brother or Killer," "Superhero," and "The Legendary Sniper," continuously expanding the artistic boundaries of post-90s directors.
