Chen Dao-ming

Chen Dao-ming, born on April 26th, 1955 in Tianjin, China, is a distinguished male actor from Shaoxing, who graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. He is a national first-class actor in China, a director of the China Film Association and the China Environmental Culture Promotion Association, and a member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He has served in important positions in the Chinese literature and art circle and received the honor of Outstanding Movie Performance Artist from the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television. In 2006, the Central Propaganda Department rated him as "four batches" of talents. He is also a member of the China Television Artists Association. In 1978, he entered the Central Academy of Drama to study performance theory, and after graduation, he devoted himself to work at the China Television Drama Production Center. In 1989, his excellent performance as Pu Yi in "The Last Emperor" won him the Best Actor Award at the 7th Golden Eagle Awards and the Outstanding Leading Actor Award at the 9th Flying Apsaras Awards. In 1990, he won numerous awards for his role in the TV drama "Fortress Besieged". He also won the Best Actor Award at the 20th National TV Golden Eagle Awards in 1999 for his role in "My 1919". Two years later, his starring role in "Kangxi Dynasty" was warmly received by the audience, for which he won the Silver Award for the audience's favorite male actor and the Second Sunshine Healthy TV Star. He also received a nomination for Best Actor at the 20th China TV Golden Eagle Awards. In 2007, the TV drama "The Great Revival" in which he starred was broadcast. In 2012, he played Liu Bang in the TV drama "Legend of Chu and Han". In 2014, he took part in the movie "Coming Home" directed by Zhang Yimou. In 2017, he acted in the costume political drama "Joy of Life", a role that led him to be nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 26th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards. In 2018, he was successfully elected as the chairman of the China Film Association. 2019 was another peak in his career, as he won an award at the New Era International Film Festival New China 70th Anniversary Top Ten Male TV Actors Awards. In 2021, the film in which he starred, "My Country, My Parents", was released.
