Chang Heng-ju
Chang Heng-ju is a film and television worker born in 1980 from Tainan. A graduate of the Graduate Institute of Filmmaking of the National Taiwan University of Arts and a member of the 5th Golden Horse Film Academy, she has garnered many domestic and international awards and recognitions throughout her academic career thanks to her insightful creations. Her short film "Packaged" won the Bronze Lion Award at the Taiwan Student Film Festival in 2005, and also won the Best Actress Award at the 28th Golden Harvest Awards, in addition to being nominated for multiple international student film festivals.
Moreover, her other short film, "Days on the Crosswalk," swept the 29th Golden Harvest Awards in 2007, snagging numerous big awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay. In addition to her artistic creations, she has also engaged in various related works in film production, including serving as an assistant director, editor, and sound recorder. She also worked as asistant director in acclaimed feature films such as "The Bold, The Corrupt, and The Beautiful," "Village of No Return," "Our Times," and "Where the Wind Settles."
Her TV movie "竹田車站 (Direct Translation: Zhutian Station)" was awarded the "Best Director Highly Commended Award" at the Seoul International TV Festival, demonstrating her talents and capabilities. Her other works have also been nominated for the Best Creative Short Film at the Golden Horse Awards, among other international film festivals like Rotterdam. "THate the Sin, Love the Sinner" marks her first attempt at directing a TV drama series.
