Chang Jung-chi

Chang Jung-chi is a Taiwanese director and screenwriter born in 1980 and grew up in Taipei. He holds degrees from the Fuhsing Academy of Arts, Kunshan University of Science and Technology's Department of Video, and the National Taiwan University of Arts' Graduate Institute of Applied Media Arts. His creative field spans across advertisements, films, and television dramas, each with different styles and brimming with vitality.
Zhang Rongji began to dabble in documentary filming during his time at the graduate institute. He is skilled at extracting brilliant creative inspirations from the trivialities of daily life, personally probing the novelty within human nature. This provides the audience with a unique humanistic perspective, displaying the character's profound and delicate emotions.
His directorial talent began to emerge in the documentary "My Football Summer," which he directed in 2006. This work won the Best Documentary Award at the 43rd Taiwan Golden Horse Awards and was his first film work. Then in 2008, his self-written and directed short film "The End of The Tunnel" won him the Best Drama Short Film Award at the 10th Taipei Film Festival.
He subsequently participated in the shooting of the 2011 music documentary "Mayday 3DNA." In 2012, his drama "Touch of the Light" won the Best New Director Award at the 49th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. He also worked on "Taipei Factory" in 2013 and "Partners in Crime" in 2014, garnering more award recognitions. His most recent work is the 2017 romance suspense film "EDGE OF INNOCENCE."
