You Shan-jun, born in 1987, is a poet and novelist from Taiwan. He graduated from National Central University with a degree in Economics and from National Taipei University of Education with a degree in Creative Writing. He has excelled in literary creation, winning several prestigious awards, including the China Times Literary Award, the Lin Rong-san Literary Award, and the Hong Kong Youth Literature Award.
You Shan-jun's work is diverse, and he has been included in the anthology "New Century New Generation Poetry Selection," edited by Xiang Yang. His poem "Feeling That Needle Still There" (2020) was described by critic Ling Yu as using ordinary and sometimes crude language, subverting traditional notions of poetry. His creations extend beyond poetry to include short mystery stories and novels, with published works such as "Perfect Humanity," "Flesh and Bone," "Random Magic," "False Full Moon," and "Vessel of God." Additionally, his collection of short mystery stories, "The Cases of Da Wu and Xiao Jia: Shadows of the Funeral," has also received positive reviews from readers.
You Shan-jun's works have been nominated for multiple literary awards and included in the "Jiu Ge Annual Essay Selection." His writings have appeared in various literary publications, including "Crown Magazine," "United Literature," and "Ink Literature and Life," showcasing his broad influence in the literary world. Besides his literary pursuits, he has received the Excellent Film Script Award, the Taipei Script Award, and other accolades. His collection of short stories, "Fog Lock," received funding from the National Arts Council, further promoting his literary career. You Shan-jun's work continues to attract attention, making him an important voice in contemporary Taiwanese literature. In 2024, the film he wrote, "See You," was released in Taiwan.
