Mak Tin-shu

Mak Tin-shu, born in 1983, is a Hong Kong film screenwriter who entered the Hong Kong film industry in the mid-2000s. He developed a passion for writing at a young age and began writing scripts during his high school years. After graduating from high school, he went to King's College London to study philosophy. Upon graduating, he returned to Hong Kong, determined to pursue a career in writing and became a screenwriter.
In 2008, Mak graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, during which he participated in the Fresh Wave Student Short Film Competition. While writing scripts for films and television, he also took on various behind-the-scenes roles, including working as a script supervisor. Today, he is one of the key creative members at Milkyway Image (HK) Ltd.
In 2016, Mak collaborated with Loong Man-Hong and Thomas Ng on the film "Trivisa," for which he won the Best Original Screenplay award at the 53rd Golden Horse Awards and the Best Screenwriter award at the 36th Hong Kong Film Awards. He was also nominated for the Best Screenwriter award at the 23rd Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards. In 2022, Mak co-created "Warriors of Future" with Lau Ho Leung. That same year, his film "Detective vs Sleuths" earned him the Best Screenwriter honor at the 29th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, and in April 2023, he again received the Best Screenwriter award at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards.
