Sam Tseng was born on January 29, 1968, in Pingtung County, Taiwan. He is a well-known host and actor in the Taiwanese television variety scene. Long-time collaborators, he and Hsu Nai-lin have co-hosted numerous popular shows together. In 2006, they won the Best Host Award in the Entertainment Variety category at the 41st Golden Bell Awards for the game show "Xiao Qi Da Cai Shen."
In 2011, Tseng received the Best Host Award for a Variety Program at the 46th Golden Bell Awards for his role in the cooking show "Stylish Man - The Chef." By 2014, the duo teamed up again to win the Best Host Award for a Variety Program at the 49th Golden Bell Awards for the classic game show "Genius Go Go Go."
In 2011, Tseng was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama at the 41st Golden Bell Awards for "Ba Xing Bao Xi" and also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for "Sunshine on Grass Mountain." Since 2007, he has primarily hosted food and travel programs, including "Mei Shi Da San Tong."
In September 2020, Tseng co-hosted the quiz and reality show "Super Night" with Tsai Shang-hua, which won the Best Host Award for a Quiz and Reality Show at the 55th Golden Bell Awards. He then won the same award again in 2021 for "A Wonderful Word," and repeated this success in 2023, also with "A Wonderful Word," at the 58th Golden Bell Awards. In 2024, his film "Yen and Ai-Lee" is set to be released in Taiwan.
