Huang Nan, male, was born in October 1976 in Beijing, China. He is a director and cinematographer. After graduating from the Art Department of Beijing Normal University, he entered the film and television industry, initially active as a cinematographer. He shot several digital films for China Central Television's movie channel, including "The Facts Behind Offense" and "Looking for Zhaxi," among which "Fang's Story" won the Outstanding Film Award at the 12th Film Channel Movie Lily Awards.
In the realm of documentary features, Huang served as the director of photography for "玉石傳奇 (Legend of Jade)" and "The Great Wall," both of which received multiple domestic documentary awards. In 2011, the television drama "中國1921 (China 1921)," in which he participated as a cinematographer, aired during prime time on CCTV-1 and won the Golden Eagle Award for Best Work and Best Lighting.
In 2017, Huang transitioned to directing, helming his first web movie "拳擊少女 (Boxing Girl)," which was exclusively released on iQIYI. In 2018, he directed his first theatrical film "Natural Music Spirits" and co-directed the suspense drama "破局1950 (Breaking the Game 1950)" (originally titled "Winter Moth"), also serving as the director of photography. In 2019, he was the B group director for the commemorative drama "Jīqíng de Suìyuè," which aired on CCTV-1 on September 23 of the same year.
In 2020, Huang co-directed the anti-American War of Resistance drama "Going Across the Yalu River" and the revolutionary historical drama "Decisive Victory." In 2021, his film "Going Across the Yalu River" was released in mainland China. In 2024, he participated in the television drama "Flower in the Mirror" and that same year, he co-directed "Dark Night and Dawn" with Li Cai.
