Sandra Ng

Sandra Ng (Ng Kwan-yue), born on August 2, 1965, in Hong Kong, is a renowned actress and one of the most influential female comedians in the Chinese-speaking world. Her partner is director Peter Chan, and they have a daughter named Chan Si-chi. Ng's father, Ha Chun-chiu, was a Cantonese film actor and hosted the lottery program "Mark Six" on ATV for many years.
She entered the TVB artist training program at the age of 16 and participated in several television dramas after graduating. In 1988, she starred in the "The Inspector Wears Skirts" film series, marking her official entry into the film industry. In 1993, she released a Cantonese album titled "I Have My Tenderness," winning the Silver Award for Best New Female Artist at the Chik Chak Music Awards.
Later, due to her connection with commercial radio executive Yu Tsang, she ventured into hosting and became an important radio host. In 1999, Ng won the Best Actress award at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in "Portland Street Blue." In 2003, she received the Best Actress award at the 40th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards for "Golden Chicken." In 2005, she was honored as the Highest Box Office Female Actress at the Hong Kong Box Office Awards. In 2014, she received the Asian Star Award at the 13th New York Asian Film Festival, becoming the first Asian actress to win this award.
In 2018, she released her directorial debut, "Gold Buster." In 2021, she produced and starred in the film "Zero to Hero," which premiered in Hong Kong, earning her a nomination for Best Actress at the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards. Ng's career spans several decades, covering film, music, and hosting, where she has received numerous prestigious awards, establishing herself as a significant figure in Hong Kong cinema. She remains active in the entertainment industry, continuously creating outstanding works.
