Wei Zi

Wei Zi, whose real name is Wang Wei, was born on February 16, 1956, in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. He is a well-known actor and stage performer in mainland China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama's training program and worked as a first-class actor at the People's Art Theatre.
In 1976, Wei Zi enrolled in the Art Department of Ningxia Normal University and worked at the Ningxia Drama Troupe for seven years after graduation. In 1989, he excelled in the play "The Chronicles of Sangshuping," winning the Plum Blossom Award and the inaugural Golden Lion Culture Award. He later received the National Outstanding Actor Award for his role in the play "Tiger Talisman."
In 1991, Wei Zi joined the People's Art Theatre and filmed his first movie, "Ballad of the Yellow River." In 1995, he won the Best Actor Award at the Xiaobaihua Awards for the film "Liu Cun Cha Kan." In 2001, he gained widespread attention for his role as Yue Buqun, the leader of the Huashan School, in the television series "Laughing in the Wind."
In 2013, Wei Zi's performance in "Da Gou Gun" earned him the Best Actor Award at the Anhui Satellite TV "National Drama Festival." In 2020, he participated in the "Don't Come, All Is Well" segment of "Zui Mei Ni Xing Zhe" and co-starred with Chen Jin in the film "Requiem," portraying a father who has lost his child, receiving critical acclaim for his performance.
In 2022, the television drama "We Are Together," in which Wei Zi participated, officially premiered. His acting career spans numerous film and television works, including "Ballad of the Yellow River," "The Scientist Jiang Zhuying," "A Story of Xiangxiang," "The Conqueror ," "Qing Man Zhu Jiang," and "Fei Jia You Nu," increasing his recognition and popularity among audiences. Wei Zi is passionate about his acting career and continues to present new roles on screen, earning the love of viewers.
