"Born to be the One" is an urban drama co-produced by China Central Television, Beijing iQIYI Technology Co., Ltd., Daylight Entertainment Co., Ltd., and Dexian Pictures (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Directed by Jian Chuan-he and written by Ji Jingrong, the show features producers Hou Hongliang and stars Yin Tao and Wang Xiao, with supporting performances from Zhang Ruonan, Qin Junjie, Zhang Zhehua, and Chen Haoyu. The story is adapted from Ji Jingrong's novel "I Am Not a Good-for-Nothing" and centers around three couples and partners living in Beijing. It portrays their struggles with personal dilemmas, their courageous confrontations with inner fears, and their collective journey through life's crises. The narrative explores themes of unrestrained internal conflict and varying interpretations of happiness and success through light-hearted and humorous dialogue, along with diverse character portrayals. The drama premiered on August 31, 2024, on the CCTV Drama Channel and on iQIYI and Tencent Video.
