Jian Chuan-he

Jian Chuan-he, male, was born on April 7, 1971, in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. He is a director and screenwriter from mainland China. He graduated from Xi'an Art School at the age of 19 and then joined the Xi'an Children's Art Theater, where he performed in stage plays. In 1998, he transitioned into the film and television industry, beginning his career as a director and writer.
In 2005, Jian directed the series "欠債還錢 (Debt Repayment)," marking the official start of his directing career. In 2009, he served as a group director for the historical drama "The Age of Iron," which won the Second Prize for Outstanding Long-Form Television Drama at the 28th China TV Flying Apsaras Awards. In 2010, he directed the spy drama "智者無敵 (The Wise Are Invincible)," followed by "Hu Die Xing Dong" in 2011.
In 2012, Jian directed China's first "movie-style production" television drama, "The Good Fellas," and in 2013, he directed the urban medical drama "The Distance of Love." In 2015, his spy suspense drama "王大花的革命生涯 (Wang Dahua's Revolutionary Career)" aired on CCTV-1, and in 2017, he directed the female workplace drama "Ode to Joy 2."
In 2019, he directed the family-themed urban emotional drama "All Is Well," for which he received a nomination for Best Director at the 25th Shanghai Television Festival Bai Yu Lan Awards. Throughout his career, Jian Chuanhe has participated in the creation of over thirty films and television dramas. His work "Ode to Joy 4," directed in 2023, is set to air on CCTV-8 and Tencent Video. Additionally, his new project "Ode to Joy Season 5" will be released on multiple platforms on March 16, 2024.
