Ming-dow or Ming-dao, whose real name is Lin Chao-chang, was born on February 26, 1980, in New Taipei City, Taiwan. He is a Taiwanese actor, singer, host, and producer active in mainland China. He graduated from Jinwen University of Science and Technology. Standing at 183 cm tall, Ming Dao has ventured into various types of dramas, including idol dramas, modern dramas, period dramas, and martial arts dramas. In 2002, Ming Dao debuted as the host of SET Metro's travel program "The King of Adventure", marking the beginning of his entertainment career. In 2004, he won the Best Host in an Educational and Cultural Program at the 39th Golden Bell Awards for "The King of Adventure", becoming the youngest recipient of this award in history. That same year, he joined the group "183club" and starred in his first television drama, "Heaven's Wedding Gown". In 2005, he played the male lead, Shan Junhao, in the idol drama "The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog", which catapulted him to fame and earned him the title of "Taiwan's Idol Drama King". In 2006, the drama "The Magicians of Love", in which he starred, became the highest-rated idol drama in Taiwan for that year. Ming-dao began to develop his career in mainland China in 2007 by starring in the Republic of China era emotional drama "Dream Heaven". In 2008, 183club officially disbanded, and he won the Fashion Idol Drama Actor Award at the China Haixi Fashion and Entertainment Festival. In 2009, he starred in his first film, "Life of Sentime", and his first period drama, "Chang'e". In 2010, he was nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards for his role in the film "Close To You". In 2011, Ming Dao established his own studio.
After completing his military service in 2013, he starred in the drama "Hot Mom!" and released his first solo album, Aesthetics of a Broken Heart. In 2014, he hosted the reality show "Travel with Ming-Dao". In 2017, the crime thriller film "The Missing", in which he starred, was released. In 2018, he starred in the road crime comedy "Route". In 2020, he joined the male artist competition variety show "Shine ! Super Brothers". In 2021, Mingdow led the cast in the period film The "Overlord", playing the role of Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu. In 2023, the drama "Route", starring Ming Dow, was broadcast on Youku, where he played Gong Li. That same year, he starred in the drama "The Corner Of Love", which aired on Dragon TV, BesTV, and Migu Video, playing the role of Chen Juyi. In 2024, the TV series "Burning Flames" and "The Legend of Heroes", in which he participated, were broadcast in mainland China.
