Lau Ching Wan (Sean Lau), born on February 16, 1964, is a renowned international Hong Kong actor. He has won the Best Actor award at the Hong Kong Film Awards three times, earned the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Award four times, and once won the Best Actor at Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards. His acting career started when he joined Television Broadcasts Limited's artist training program in 1983 and made his acting debut in "Rainbow Round My Shoulder" in 1984. He gained fame for his role as 'Fit Sir' in "Police Cadet '84". In 1986, he made his film debut in "Silent Love", playing the role of Mickey. In 1994, he starred in "C'est la vie, mon chéri" and "Thou Shalt Not Swear", both of which were nominated for the Best Actor at the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards. He won the Best Actor award at the 4th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards in 1998 for his role in "Full Alert". He starred in the action movie "Shock Wave 2" in 2020 and the science fiction movie "Warriors of Future" in 2022. In 2023, his performance in the mystery movie "Detective vs Sleuths" won him the Best Actor at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2024, Lau Ching Wan starred in the Chinese-Hong Kong co-production "Crisis Negotiators".
