The story is set in Shanghai in the 1990s, describing the journey of Ah Bao (played by Hu Ge) who, thanks to the wave of reform and opening up, works hard to rise to prominence as a new star in the business world. In the city's melting pot, all kinds of people compete for attention, seeking fame and fortune, running towards their dreams, and leading their internal desires. Under the guidance of his uncle (played by Yo Ben-Chang), Ah Bao stands out in the stock market, becoming more and more confident, and stepping into the business world. He develops a trusting relationship with Miss Wang from Number 27 (played by Tiffany Tang), opens a restaurant with his childhood friend Lingzi (played by Ma Yili), and has a complex relationship with the landlady of Zhizhen Garden, Li Li (played by Xin Zhilei).
