Ko Chen-nien is a Taiwanese female director and screenwriter born in New Taipei City. She graduated from the University's School of Radio, Television and Film. Ko is skilled at crafting stories with elements of depression, suspense, and thrill, with many of her works focusing on the theme of "human nature". In 2011, she was nominated for Best Creative Short Film at the 48th Golden Horse Awards for "Horse with No Name". In 2015, she won the Golden Harvest Awards Excellence Award for "Under The Water", which gained her recognition from Director Wang Xiaodi. Wang invited her to co-create "Qseries - Close Your Eyes Before It's Dark" and she served as the director and screenwriter for the series. In 2017, she was nominated for Best Director and Screenwriter for a TV Program at the 52nd Golden Bell Awards and ultimately won the major award for Best TV Program. In 2020, her film "The Silent Forest" was nominated for Best New Director and Best Original Screenplay at the 57th Golden Horse Awards. In 2023, she was selected as a preliminary jury member for the 60th Golden Horse Awards. In 2024, her written and directed work "Qseries 2 - Not a Murder Story" was officially released to the audience.
