Kelvin Shum
Kelvin Shum, born on August 13, 1992, is a Hong Kong director. During his university studies in drama, he planned and produced numerous dramas, taking on both acting and directing roles. He later furthered his studies in Australia, and after leaving Australia, he went to Shanghai Theatre Academy for further studies. Since 2013, he has honed his film-making skills at companies such as Warner Brothers and Paramount Pictures in the United States, participating in the production of works like "X-Men", "Legion", and "The Purge (TV series)". In 2019, his experimental short film "We Shall Overcome" was nominated at film festivals around the world, including those in Rome and the Austrian Independent Film Festival. It won several awards, including Best Director, Best Thriller, and Best Actor. In 2020, Shum returned to Hong Kong, and in 2021, directed his first feature film "Deliverance". The film competed at various international film festivals and received multiple nominations, including Best Foreign Language Film, Best Director, Best New Director, and Best Male and Female Leads. It won numerous awards at the Best Picture San Francisco Film Festival in the USA, including Best Director, Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Actress. In 2022, he also directed the film "It Remains".
