Patrick Tam (Tam Yiu-man) was born on March 19, 1969, in Hong Kong. He is a highly influential male singer and actor in the Chinese music and film industries. Although he experienced a period of development in mainland China, he has now relocated his main focus back to Hong Kong. Tam began his entertainment career in 1988 when he participated in the 7th Global Chinese Singing Contest and emerged the champion, becoming Anita Mui's second disciple. In 1993, he signed a contract with TVB and officially made a shift towards the acting industry. His acting abilities were recognized, especially in 1999 when he won the Best Supporting Actor award for the film "Beast Cops" at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards, the 4th China Hong Kong Film Golden Bauhinia Awards, and the 38th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. He later moved to Asia Television, starring in works including "Flaming Brothers". In 2012, his micro-film "Mr. Right" won him the Best Leading Actor at the 1st Golden Micro-Film Awards. In 2013, he produced his first personal Mandarin album. His TV drama "A Happy Life" in 2014 received a nomination for "Favorite Actor from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan" at the 10th China Golden Eagle TV Art Festival. In 2015, thanks to the film "The Merger", he won the "Best Leading Actor" award at the New York Film Festival and the "Best Supporting Actor" award at San Diego independent Film Festival in the same year. In 2019, he starred in the film "A Witness out of the Blue" alongside Louis Koo and Jessica Hsuan. In 2021, his inspirational urban era drama "Star Of Ocean" premiered on October 30. As of April 4, 2024, he is starring in the film "Suspect", which premiered in mainland China.
