Nick Cheung (Cheung Ka Fai), born on December 2, 1964, of Guangdong Panyu ancestry, is a renowned actor, director, and singer based in Hong Kong and a graduate of the Hong Kong Royal Police Cadet School. His acting career genuinely set off in 1989 when he starred in the film "Thank You, Sir". In 1995, he officially signed as an artist with the TVB network. In 1998, Cheung participated in the film "The Conman", earning his nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards. Then in 2004, he featured in the movie "Breaking News". His star truly ascended in 2008, with his role in the film "The Beast Stalker" winning him numerous awards including Best Actor at the 53rd Asia-Pacific Film Festival, Best Actor at the 28th Hong Kong Film Awards, and Best Actor at the 46th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. In 2013, his starring role in "Unbeatable" brought him another round of accolades including Best Actor at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards, Best Actor at the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival, and Best Actor in China at the 10th Huading Awards. Cheung ventured into the realm of directing with his 2014 self-written and directed film "Hungry Ghost Ritual", and followed up with "Keeper of Darkness" in 2015 where he served as writer, director, and actor. Between 2017 and 2023, Cheung not only starred in numerous films but also released a duet single. In 2024, his starring role in "Suspect" was released in mainland China and Hong Kong. Cheung married fellow artist, Esther Kwan, in Australia in 2003 and they have a daughter together.
