Qiao Zhen-yu, a male actor from China, was born on November 1, 1978, in Guilin, Guangxi. He later graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy where he studied classical dance. He was first discovered by a talent scout during his school years, and he began participating in advertisements and film and television drama shoots. During his university years, he won a first-class award for folk dance, and in 2003, he received the Lycra Fashion Newcomer Award. He rose to fame for his outstanding portrayal of the character "Fang Baoyu" in the show "浣花洗劍錄 (Washing the Sword)" and consequently became a popular young actor. He was also voted by mainland netizens as one of the "Top Four Beauties" for the first time. His notable works also include "雪花女神龙 (The Snow Goddess Dragon)" among others.
