Richie Jen (Jen Hsien-chi) was born on June 23, 1966, in Changhua County, Taiwan. His family hails from the Jiangxia District of Wuhan City in Hubei Province. He is a multitalented artist, not only being a Mandarin pop singer but also an actor, lyricist, director, and race car driver. His singing career kicked off in 1990 when he released his first album "Ask Once Again". The following year, he entered the film and television industry with his role in the movie "官兵捉強盜 (Officers and Thieves)". In 1996, he released his widely acclaimed music album "Too Soft Hearted", which sold up to 26 million copies, shattering the record for the highest sales of a Mandarin album. In 2010, his remarkable performance in the movie "Fire of Conscience" won him the "Best Actor Award" at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. In 2011, he released the music album "神魔·不信邪 (The Devil Doesn’t Pray)". In 2015, he single-handedly directed and starred in the romantic comedy film "All You Need Is Love". Furthermore, his outstanding performance in the 2017 movie "Trivisa" earned him a nomination for the "Best Actor Award" at the 36th Hong Kong Film Awards.
